Philippines - Thai pop icon and Asia’s latest spectacle, “Sexy, Naughty, Bitchy” Tata Young, fires up MTV Pilipinas 2004 on July 1 at the PSC Philsports Arena (formerly ULTRA), as she co-hosts the biggest Philippines music awards show with wacky local entertainers Michael V. and Randy Santiago.
Tata first wowed the Filipino audience when she performed last month at the MTV Rock the Vote concert in Cebu City before a crowd of 30,000. Only 23, Tata has sold over 12 million records and continues to make a strong impression with the release early this year of her debut English album, I Believe.
Enthusiasts can thus expect Young to come into her own alongside seasoned hosts Michael and Randy at the next hottest music event in town. Other international artists expected to jazz up the affair include Australian Idol Guy Sebastian and Irish pop sensations Bellefire.
Meantime, get a feel for what you can expect at the MTV Pilipinas 2004 come July 1 in SM Supermalls this weekend. Today, June 18, 2-6 pm, your most-wanted MTV VJs will troop to SM Southmall Upper Ground Centermall with Favorite Male Artist nominees Jay-R and Gloc 9, and Favorite New Artist/Group nominee 6Cycle Mind. Tomorrow, June 19, 2-6 pm, they make for SM Megamall Atrium, again with Gloc 9 and 6Cycle Mind, and Favorite Female Artist nominees Sarah Geronimo, Roselle Nava, Jolina Magdangal, and Nina, as well as Favorite Group nominees Parokya Ni Edgar and True Faith.
Also keep in mind that you have only until June 27 to cast your vote for the MTV Pilipinas 2004 People’s Choice Awards.
