Tata's Album I BELIEVE, released on Columbia Records, is the happy result of Tata’s search for the right label to take her beyond her Thai borders and market her internationally. It has been a significant journey for the trendsetter who made her debut as a professional recording artist at the age of 14. “It’s a real honour for me to be with Columbia Records. Being a labelmate to so many artists I admire like Beyonce and Celine Dion is a dream come true,” said Tata. “The reason I named the album I BELIEVE is probably because I have come such a long way to do this album. You need to have a lot of faith in yourself. Even if other people believe in you, you still have to believe in yourself.” Tata recorded I BELIEVE over the span of a year in Sweden under the watchful eyes of top creative duo Martin Ankelius and Henrik Andersson, who write and produce under the moniker of Hitvision. Known for their superb songwriting qualities and pop production, Hitvision has written and produced for a large number of international platinum artists with sales exceeding over 3 million albums and singles and more than twenty Top 10 hits. |
She's Music I BELIEVE is a collection of 12 captivating songs by international songwriters and a true representation of who Tata is as an artist and as a person – hip, trendy and lively. In Tata’s words: “It's about being natural, it's fun, upbeat, funky pop, cheerful and energetic. There are a few sentimental, mellow and romantic songs. It really reflects who I am. It's really me; my nature.” The first single from the album is the ultra-funky pop track Sexy Naughty Bitchy, written by Hitvision. About the skirts being too sexy, thoughts getting a bit naughty and being bitchy with an attitude, Sexy Naughty Bitchy is a song Tata describes as “new and a little bit different”. “It’s about going out with your girlfriends and having fun. It’s just a really upbeat song,” she added. The photos for the album and the music videos were shot in Taiwan. To bring her new image to life, Columbia Records secured the creative services of renowned music video director Ken Fu, who had previously worked on videos for top Asian artists such as Jay Chou and Faye Wong. For longtime fans of the Tata Young, I BELIEVE will put a new, more sophisticated and cosmopolitan spin on their idol; new fans will simply be blown away by the immense talent of this exciting fresh artist. |
